Law and Legislation
This section will contain information pertaining to local (Hawaii) and federal legislative issues as well as links to information on getting involved in animal advocacy, and form letters to support particular animal issues.We will also provide links to legal resources, such as the Animal Legal Defense Fund and attorneys in animal law.
Even if you just want to be an armchair activist/lobbyist/advocate for animals, we have a growing list of resources with loads of information on how to get involved. Stories like the one about one woman's advocacy for change in Indiana's laws, resulting in a dangerous dog law and a dog fighting law, might inspire you to leap out of that chair and bustle down to your neighborhood board, city hall, or state legislature and get some changes made yourself. (Don't let us hold you back, though, if your aim is the federal government!)
