On June 4, 2007, Malama Popoki was honored to receive a donation of $2,500 from the fourth grade class at Island Pacific Academy in Kapolei, Hawaii, as announced in the academy's press release (PDF) dated May 23, 2007, and described in the Honolulu Advertiser article, "Concern for land nets national award". This is an extraordinary gift from some extraordinary young people whom we cannot thank enough.
We wish the students a hearty congratulations on earning the Disney All-Stars 2007 top spot of 2,000 entries in the Disney Adventure Magazine’s nationwide youth volunteerism contest.
